Welcome to our site,
Nenagh Special Summer Camp started in 1988 and has been delivering Special Camps every year since.
Our Special Summer camps are specifically tailored for children with special needs and offers a week long fun packed camp for local children.
The first Camp in 1988 catered for 10 children and ran for one week. Last summer, thirty years on, Nenagh Special Summer Camp runs for six weeks and provides holiday fun and play for over 80 special needs children and adults (returning campers). A very dedicated team of adults organise a program of activities and teenagers are recruited from the local second level schools. Read more on the history of the camp.
The camp takes place over a number of weeks during the summer, each week consists of a week leader, volunteer supervisors and children each paired with a teenage buddy (volunteer).
Our fun packed week consists of a number of varied activities, such as , Swimming, Horse Riding, Arts & Crafts, Zumba Dancing, Adaptive Judo, Yoga, Tibetan Bowls and Music. Our day trips include Playgrounds, Forest walks, Delta Adventure Park and Pet Farm.
